Overview

Propak Systems Ltd., an established leader in engineering, fabrication, and construction of gas compression, processing and heavy oil facilities, is seeking a Project Accountant to perform general accounting functions including data processing, report generation, variance analysis, inventory reconciliation, preparation of client invoices, responding to inquiries and appropriate storage of information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare weekly labour reports for clients
  • Prepare semi-monthly and/or monthly invoices for clients
  • Conduct bi-weekly update meetings with Project Managers
  • Ensure all required signatures are obtained prior to being sent to clients
  • Check vendor invoice against AP Voucher Listing and resolve any discrepancies with Accounts Payable Clerk
  • Reconcile material, labour and inventory invoiced amounts with Visual Enterprise amounts
  • Run reports of incurred labour hours/costs for inclusion in weekly reporting
  • Compile invoices of actual activity for submission to Project Managers
  • Co-ordinate collection and submission of time sheets
  • Reconcile labour hours reported in payroll system to incurred labour hours reported in project management information
  • Prepare reports of incurred and received costs for review by Senior Cost Accountant
  • Compile month end incurred cost estimate for review by Senior Cost Accountant
  • Investigate unusual variations in actual cost as directed by Senior Cost Accountant
Qualifications
  • Business diploma, degree and/or equivalent years of experience in an accounting/finance unit
  • Completion or working towards a skilled accounting designation
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an office setting, preferably in an accounting/finance unit
  • Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite including but not limited to Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Experience with Visual software is considered an asset
