DESCRIPTION :
Under the supervision of the Supervisor Category Management - Indrect, the Contracts Analyst will primarily be responsible for creating, writing, and maintaining accurate and professional contracts and tenders in accordance with current tendering laws and corporate policies. The role will be required to do pre-qualifications for contractors and suppliers, negotiate, interpret, and resolve disputes that arise with regards to contractual arrangements made on the Company’s behalf.
In addition, the role is responsible for creating a liaison with, and coaching, all Company departments and external suppliers in the pre-qualification process, tendering and contracting for services and material.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
Create and maintain contracts to comply with current legal standardsCreate tenders to comply with current tendering law and corporate policiesDocument, maintain and file proposal evaluations both pre and post awardManage and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external parties while adhering to Company practices and policiesResearch possible contract opportunities and recommend contract solutionsBe able to apply contracts to all aspects of the business in the various departments throughout the CompanyAssist various departments with the tendering processes and supplier evaluationsSpecial projects and other duties, as assignedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Strong ability to focus on details in order to produce documentation with a high level of accuracy and professionalismSelf-starter with the ability to work either in a team environment or independentlyStrong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to clearly present information to various audiences in both formal and informal settingsAbility to see the “big picture” and apply strong contracts practices to evolving situationsStrong customer service focus with the proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with team members, internal clients and suppliersDemonstrated ability to build strong partnerships with all levels of employees through intuitive business insight and personal credibility; this includes the ability to make recommendations and influence outcomesDemonstrated ability to resolve issues by analyzing and evaluating possible solutionsExcellent organizational and time management skills in order to manage multiple priorities and competing demands with tight timelinesTakes ownership of tasks and delivers on commitmentsDemonstrated intermediate level ability in using MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access); SAP would be an assetQUALIFICATIONS WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Degree or diploma in Business or a related discipline plus a minimum of 5 years supply chain experienceA combination of education and experience may be consideredMinimum 2 years of experience in a Contracts role which includes creating contracts, issuing Requests for Information, Quotes, and Proposals (RFx), and evaluating tenders proposalsA Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation is considered an assetA certificate or diploma in supply chain management (SCM) is considered an assetSPECIAL CONDITIONS
Travel within Alberta may be required.
