DESCRIPTION :

Under the supervision of the Supervisor Category Management - Indrect, the Contracts Analyst will primarily be responsible for creating, writing, and maintaining accurate and professional contracts and tenders in accordance with current tendering laws and corporate policies. The role will be required to do pre-qualifications for contractors and suppliers, negotiate, interpret, and resolve disputes that arise with regards to contractual arrangements made on the Company’s behalf.

In addition, the role is responsible for creating a liaison with, and coaching, all Company departments and external suppliers in the pre-qualification process, tendering and contracting for services and material.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):

  • Create and maintain contracts to comply with current legal standards
  • Create tenders to comply with current tendering law and corporate policies
  • Document, maintain and file proposal evaluations both pre and post award
  • Manage and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external parties while adhering to Company practices and policies
  • Research possible contract opportunities and recommend contract solutions
  • Be able to apply contracts to all aspects of the business in the various departments throughout the Company
  • Assist various departments with the tendering processes and supplier evaluations
  • Special projects and other duties, as assigned
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong ability to focus on details in order to produce documentation with a high level of accuracy and professionalism
  • Self-starter with the ability to work either in a team environment or independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to clearly present information to various audiences in both formal and informal settings
  • Ability to see the “big picture” and apply strong contracts practices to evolving situations
  • Strong customer service focus with the proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with team members, internal clients and suppliers
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships with all levels of employees through intuitive business insight and personal credibility; this includes the ability to make recommendations and influence outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve issues by analyzing and evaluating possible solutions
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills in order to manage multiple priorities and competing demands with tight timelines
  • Takes ownership of tasks and delivers on commitments
  • Demonstrated intermediate level ability in using MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access); SAP would be an asset
  • QUALIFICATIONS WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Degree or diploma in Business or a related discipline plus a minimum of 5 years supply chain experience
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Contracts role which includes creating contracts, issuing Requests for Information, Quotes, and Proposals (RFx), and evaluating tenders proposals
  • A Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation is considered an asset
  • A certificate or diploma in supply chain management (SCM) is considered an asset
  • SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Travel within Alberta may be required.
