Become a full-time Indigenous Learning Specialist with Rocky View Schools, dedicated to enhancing K-12 education through Indigenous knowledge. This role focuses on integrating cultural perspectives into classroom practices.
Beginning August 27, 2026, this position requires travel between RVS educational sites. The successful applicant will implement sustainable Indigenous education practices and support K-12 teachers in their daily instruction. Collaboration with Elders and community members will enhance the educational experience and inclusivity for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement effective decolonization strategies in classrooms
• Support culturally relevant teaching practices
• Foster relationships with Indigenous students and their families
• Develop quality resources that reflect Indigenous worldviews
• Facilitate professional development sessions for educators
Requirements:
• 5+ years of recent classroom experience
• Familiarity with diverse K-12 educational environments
• Experience with provincial and jurisdictional education policies
• Ability to work collaboratively with educational leaders
• Eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate
