Learning Specialist, Indigenous Learning

Advance Indigenous Learning at Rocky View Schools (RVS) as a full-time Learning Specialist in Airdrie, Alberta. This position focuses on enriching K-12 education with Indigenous insights and practices.

Commencing August 27, 2026, you will support teachers and leadership in integrating Indigenous perspectives throughout the curriculum. This role requires collaboration with various community partners to foster a deep understanding of the historical context of Indigenous peoples and implement culturally relevant programs. Access to reliable transportation is essential due to the travel required between RVS schools.

• Support educators in effective inclusivity strategies
• Facilitate professional learning and development workshops
• Collaborate with Elders and community members
• Design division-wide cultural events and projects
• Develop resources that reflect Indigenous cultures and worldviews

• Minimum of 5 years recent classroom experience
• Robust understanding of inclusive educational practices
• Knowledge of RVS strategic and educational frameworks
• Capacity to support Indigenous student engagement
• Eligibility for an Alberta Teaching Certificate required
