Rocky View Schools Learning Specialist - Indigenous Focus

This full-time position starts August 27, 2026, under the Director of Indigenous Learning. Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of Indigenous Ways of Knowing to effectively support educators and students while traveling between RVS sites. Enhance student learning experiences through innovative approaches.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support teachers in decolonization and indigenization practices

• Collaborate with community partners to enrich education

• Lead training to develop teacher's knowledge of Indigenous cultures

• Design and manage culturally relevant student programs

• Initiate and support division-wide educational events

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of classroom experience needed

• Must be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate

• Familiarity with RVS education practices

• Excellent communication and collaborative skills

• Ability to lead professional learning communities
