TheOpportunity
RVS invites applications for Substitute Teachers for the school year. Substitute teachers are called to substitute‑teach on an as‑needed basis at any of our schools. You must be available to work throughout the school year, be accessible by telephone and the internet, and provide your own transportation. No interview is required to be added to the substitute teacher list; a positive reference letter received will be the approval to be placed on the substitute teacher list.

- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collegial environment, with all members of the learning community
- Understanding of and commitment to a teaching style congruent with RVS' vision, mission, and beliefs
- Strong pedagogical understanding as it relates to a variety of curricula
- Ability to quickly engage students in their learning while ensuring a classroom climate of respect and safety
- There is no minimum day‑availability required to be a substitute teacher with RVS
- There is no minimum geographical area selection required
- The successful candidate must submit a current Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check within thirty days of the start of your employment.

In lieu of a reference letter please submit your final practicum report.
