Support complex learners as a Temporary Learning Assistant at C.W. Perry School in Airdrie, providing classroom assistance and personal care. This full-time assignment runs through June 29, 2027.
Rocky View Schools seeks a Learning Assistant for students in grades 6–9. Reporting to the Principal, you will collaborate with teachers to implement individualized plans and promote health, learning, belonging, and independence. The work includes behavioral support, student data collection, personal care, and medical assistance.
Key Responsibilities:- Implement strategies identified in student plans
- Support personal care, transfers, feeding, and daily routines
- Record behavioral observations and collect student data
- Assist emotional and behavioral regulation
- Prepare individualized program materials with teachers
- Educational Assistant Certificate or related certificate or diploma
- Preventative or de-escalating behavior training, or willingness to certify
- One year supporting students with challenging behavior considered an asset
- CPR or First Aid Certification, or willingness to certify
- Ability to perform required physical tasks daily
