Support diverse learners as a temporary full-time Learning Assistant at C.W. Perry School in Airdrie, Alberta, using individualized plans and student supports.
Rocky View Schools seeks a Learning Assistant supporting students in grades 6-9 until June 29, 2027. Collaborate with teachers on programs for complex needs, promoting health, learning, belonging, and independence. The position reports to the Principal and requires 30 hours weekly.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist students according to individualized plans and identified supports
- Reinforce teacher-directed strategies and prepare individualized program materials
- Record behavioral observations and collect student support data
- Support personal care, mobility, medical needs, and daily routines
- Promote emotional regulation, learning, belonging, and independence
- Educational Assistant Certificate or related certificate or diploma
- Preventative or de-escalating behaviour training, or willingness to certify
- Experience with challenging behavior and positive behavior supports considered an asset
- CPR or First Aid certification, or willingness to certify
- Strong collaboration, communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
