Rocky View Schools seeks a temporary full-time Learning Assistant for 30 hours weekly, immediately through June 29, 2027. Reporting to the Principal, you will collaborate with teachers to adapt programs for students with complex needs. The position emphasizes health, learning, belonging, and independence. You will support student plans, positive behaviour strategies, personal care, and routine medical needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist students with individualized personal, medical, lifting, and safety needs
Implement teacher-directed strategies from student plans
Record observations and collect behavioural challenge data
Support emotional regulation, learning, belonging, and independence
Provide routine personal care and medical assistance
Requirements:
Educational Assistant Certificate or related certificate or diploma
Preventative or de-escalating behaviour training, or certification willingness
Minimum one year supporting challenging student behaviour considered an asset
CPR or First Aid certification, or certification willingness
Ability to perform required daily physical tasks
Bring student support, collaboration, and positive behaviour skills to Rocky View Schools and C.W. Perry School learners.
