Your Impact Starts Here – Join our Energy team as a Senior Manager, Business Development
. You’ll shape strategies that grow our market presence, strengthen client relationships, and position WSP to lead in delivering sustainable, reliable energy solutions across Canada. Preference for Calgary, AB, with travel across Canada and the U.S.
Our Energy subsector, a key component of WSP’s ERI (Energy, Resources and Industry) sector, supports clients from coast to coast. From small installations to multi-phase integrated mega projects, we support your upstream, midstream, or downstream oil and gas activities and energy transition markets at all stages of the project lifecycle, anywhere in the world. We are focused on providing design, engineering and environmental services that contribute to climate adaptation and mitigation, sustain the use and protection of water and marine resources, protect and restore biodiversity, and support our clients as they transition to low‑carbon solutions.
Our experts work together to offer our clients services that live up to our vision: to meet the highest standards in the industry and innovate to exceed them.
- Develop focused go‑to‑market strategies and account plans that drive growth.
- Lead pipeline management and opportunity positioning for key Energy pursuits.
- Support and mentor account managers to enhance client satisfaction and expand portfolios.
- Collaborate with leaders in Power Generation, Renewable Fuels, Carbon Capture and LNG to target growth opportunities.
- Build strong client relationships and deliver compelling presentations and proposals.
- Support industry outreach, conferences, and thought‑leadership initiatives to elevate WSP’s Energy profile.
- 10–15+ years’ experience in business development, account management, or market strategy in the energy or oil & gas sectors.
- Strong understanding of energy market trends and emerging technologies.
- Proven ability to manage sales pipelines and exceed revenue targets.
- Skilled in creating and executing market development strategies.
- Strong financial acumen and ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
- Comfortable presenting to executives and negotiating client agreements.

- AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $162,200 – $212,200
- MB & ON: $148,000 – $198,000
- NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $146,500 – $194,600
The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The wage range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
