Underground Development Miner – Support Miner (Runner)
Alamos Gold Inc. Young-Davidson is currently recruiting a support miner to join our operations team.
Pay or shift range: $32.36 CAD to $38.98 CAD.
Reporting to the Supervisor, Mine Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for safe and efficient completion of underground mining operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Transport tools, equipment, and consumables from surface or storage areas to underground work zones.
- Assist in the setup and operation of drills and other mining machinery.
- Extend and maintain ventilation and water lines, ensuring proper mine services are in place.
- Support safety protocols by scaling loose rock.
- Maintain supply storage areas and ensure availability of critical items like explosives, drill bits, etc.
- All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and
Experience:
- Completion of secondary school (high school diploma) is typically required.
- Previous experience as a mine labourer or in underground support roles preferred.
- Basic Common Core certification (Ontario) is an asset.
- Ability to work in a team and follow safety procedures rigorously.
Schedule:
7 days on, 7 days off – 10 hours.
