Position: WSP Substation Engineer Role in Alberta
Drive the future of renewable energy in Canada as an Intermediate Substation Physical Design Engineer us on designing medium to high voltage substations while enjoying flexible work arrangements.
This role encompasses creating detailed design packages for utility substations, including 15 kV to 138 kV systems. You will develop diagrams, perform equipment sizing calculations, and collaborate on multiple projects, ensuring quality and precision. Occasional travel will be required to support project success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design comprehensive medium to high voltage substation layouts

• Create one-line diagrams and elevation views efficiently

• Calculate parameters like lightning protection and AC service

• Develop technical specifications aligned with project goals

• Multitask across various projects while maintaining quality
Requirements:

• 5-10 years of hands-on experience in substation design

• Expertise in Micro Station or AutoCAD software

• BIM tool exposure, such as Inventor, is advantageous

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline

• Proven collaborative skills with a community-focused mindset
