Customer Load Planning Engineer

As a key member of the Engineering department at Fortis Alberta, you will leverage your expertise in electrical distribution planning and power systems. With a minimum of five years of experience, you will analyze load-flow models and identify technical solutions for equitable access to power capacity. Collaborating with customers and stakeholders, you will ensure system reliability and effective project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and analyze distribution system load-flow models
• Perform motor-starting and short-circuit studies
• Identify and define technical requirements for new loads
• Prepare engineering reports outlining necessary upgrades
• Manage customer load request queue for equitable access
Requirements:
• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum five years of electric distribution planning experience
• Registration as a Skilled Engineer or eligibility
• Strong knowledge of power system analysis
• Proven problem-solving and communication skills
