We are currently seeking an Intermediate
Electrical Designer for our Airdrie, AB office. This position interfaces with the respective drafting coordinator or technical lead as well as the respective project engineer and provides progress updates to the respective drafting manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides design services by gathering information, making studies, computing calculations, and preparing detailed design and deliverables in accordance with project requirements.Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operationsGathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts and sketches to present design proposalsCoordinates design criteria with engineering providing layout skid packages including MCC building, cable tray and lighting layouts, and motor schematic drawingsInvestigates pertinent design factors, such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replace ability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirementsDesigns layouts and drawings keeping in mind clarity, completeness, conformity to codes, regulations, and standards, procedures, specifications, critical interface compatibility, producibility aspects, and dimensional accuracy of calculationsConforms to design/drafting standards, design specifications, and economy of fabricationCoordinates assigned engineering and design work with other project groupsParticipates in project planning and execution, man-hour estimation, and schedule developmentQualifications:
A Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or Engineering Design Drafting Technology (EDDT)ASET membership is an asset2-3 years of directly related experience in electrical design of oil and gas processing facilities in the Canadian industryExperience with an EPC work environmentFabrication shop designing experienceProficiency in AutoCAD 2010 and higher1-2 years’ experience with 3D Cadworx2+ years’ experience with 2D AcadExperience with Auto Desk programs including AutoCAD and InventorFamiliarity with CEC, industry regulations, and standardsMust be eligible to work in CanadaAs a condition of employment, employees are required upon hire to sign a Drug-Free Workplace Agreement, a Conflict of Interest Agreement, and Confidentiality and Invention AgreementPropak Systems Ltd. thanks all applicants for their interest however only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
