Azure Migration Lead; VMware to Azure

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of a migration pod
  , owning execution and outcomes across assigned workloads
• Drive wave-based VMware to Azure migrations from discovery through post-validation
• Execute application-level migration treatment plans aligned to program runbooks
• Perform complexity assessments (low/medium/high) and map to migration strategies
• Lead and direct Migration Engineer activities
  , ensuring quality and delivery pace
• Take ownership of high-complexity migration scenarios and technical problem solving
• Operate Azure Migrate and replication tools (e.g., ASR) at an advanced level
• Design and manage replication strategies and throughput planning
• Plan and execute cutover events
  , including rollback and contingency planning
• Contribute to and evolve migration runbooks and reusable pattern libraries
• Engage with application owners, infra teams, and network providers for dependencies
• Coordinate change windows, access provisioning, and migration readiness
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (Bicep/Terraform) modules
• Build and review automation scripts (Power Shell/Bash) for migrations
• Run pod stand-ups, wave planning, and retrospective sessions
• Communicate status, risks, and blockers to leadership clearly and consistently
• Mentor team members and promote reusable best practices across pods
• Apply Azure Landing Zone and Cloud Adoption Framework principles
• Troubleshoot networking and post-migration connectivity issues (NSGs, DNS, routing)
• Operate within structured ITIL change management environments with strict governance
