Overview
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an Infrastructure Delivery Install Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. The role involves day‑to‑day installation of servers and network equipment, structured cabling, project work, and capacity management. You will install and troubleshoot structured cabling, manage infrastructure inventory levels, physically install network and server racks, and coordinate with data center services vendors.
The position requires reporting to a site location and obtaining an active Reliability Status security clearance with the Government of Canada.
- Install, test and troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, including patch panels and patch cords.
- Work with a partner to move enterprise equipment from loading docks.
- Manage work and priorities through a ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects.
- Carry a pager/cell phone for communication, information, and emergencies.
- Up to 20 % travel within geographical work area may be required; some travel outside this zone may be requested.
- Report current status via ticketing system, status reports, and email.
- Maintain accurate records and document problems and processes.
- Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain site cleanliness.
- Manage, check and coordinate all materials to be delivered to site daily.
- Ensure that the Data Center Installations comply with all installation practices.
- Installation and maintenance of copper and fiber cable infrastructure.
- Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment and troubleshooting methodologies.
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- 1+ years of data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations experience.
- Experience in data center.
- CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco/CCNA, Linux (Redhat), Microsoft hardware installation, AWS, or other industry‑relevant certifications.
- Experience troubleshooting networks (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN, trace route, iperf, dig, cURL or similar technologies).
- Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment.
- Experience managing medium to large‑scale projects.
- Experience in Linux OS and network troubleshooting, or experience in Linux/RHEL and troubleshooting technical systems.
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
