The OpportunityRVS invites seeking applications for a Continuing, Part-Time (12.5 hrs/week)
Caretaker I position to provide routine cleaning duties starting immediately with
Monday to Friday after school hours with the exceptionof 1-2 day shifts per month (as per School Year Calendar) .This position will be at Muriel Clayton School and follows a 10-month school-year calendar schedule.
Under the supervision of the Head Building Operator and Building Operator, the Caretaker I providescaretaking services at their assigned RVS facilities. The Caretaker I is responsible for the housekeeping of school buildings, maintaining contents and furnishings in good appearance and inclean, tidy, sanitary condition, as assigned by their supervisor.

Responsibilities Include- Attention to detail related to varied and complex cleaning tasks
- Ability to work independently and perform assigned tasks within a team environment
- Demonstrated pride in workmanship
- Keeps assigned sidewalks, steps, and entrances free from ice and snow
- Performs building security checks as scheduled by the Head Building Operator
- Experience working in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety, WHMIS and other relevant legislation
- Previous cleaning experience is considered an asset
- Certifications from cleaning organization is considered an asset
- Previous experience within a school division is considered an asset
- An equivalent combination of Education and Experience may be considered
- Basic knowledge of proper cleaning procedures
- Ability to successfully work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
