Description:
As a Maintenance Worker II, you may perform routine preventative and demand maintenance activities within the exterior and interior of the building. Under general supervision, you may perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repair work on facility architectural, structural and mechanical systems/components to ensure safety and efficient operation of the building systems and equipment. You may perform a wide range of general maintenance duties including maintenance and repair of drywall, floors and painting.
Additional duties may include minor plumbing repair; minor repairs on equipment; checks on equipment for pressure and temperature; and disassembly of equipment for cleaning.

- Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
- Possession of a valid driver's licence.
- Power Engineer 5th Class Certificate required where boiler support is necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 High School diploma supplemented by a minimum two-month technical training program (i.e. Carpentry, mechanical, electrical or 5th Class Power Engineer certificate).
- Candidates must have 2-3 years of snow removal, groundskeeping and/or equipment operating experience.
- Candidate must also be familiar with a variety of architectural, electrical and mechanical tools, systems and equipment used in the maintenance department.
- Must be able to communicate clearly in English; both verbally and written.
- Incumbent will be familiar with established safety rules, regulations and procedures and able to work with minimum supervision.
- Candidate must be cooperative and demonstrate a willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis.
- Candidate must be capable of lifting up to 23kg (50lbs), also kneeling, squatting or bending for prolonged periods of time.
- Candidate must also be comfortable working on ladders, roofs, and outdoors for duration of shift.
- Candidate must also live within 30 minutes of Didsbury for a one week per month evening and weekend on-call rotation.
