RVS invites applications for a temporary, full-time (40 hrs/wk) Building Operator I Floater Position(s) to service all areas (based on the needs of the division - mornings or afternoons must be flexible); starting immediately and ending June 30, 2027.
Responsibilities Include- Engages actively in janitorial duties, including cleaning of the school and the grounds (90% of this position is cleaning)
- Reports any defects, damages, or loss of school property to the Head Building Operator
- May coordinate cleaning duties of caretakers
- Ensures temperatures in the school building are maintained during the shift
- Checks on the proper operation of heating, plumbing, and electrical systems; reports any problems promptly to the Head Building Operator
- Security duties as assigned
- Assists the HBO in orientation and training of new employees and relief help
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years’ previous experience in a supervisory role, preferable in a Caretaking setting
- 3-5 years previous caretaking/cleaning experience Knowledge/Skills
- Working knowledge of proper cleaning procedures
- Ability to successfully work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision
- Effective supervisory skills, including training, and delegating
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient on Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications
- 6% vacation pay
- As this is a temporary position, there are no benefits or sick time
