Custodian

Propak Systems Ltd. is an established leader in engineering, fabrication, and construction of gas compression and processing facilities for the energy industry. We are currently seeking a Custodian to make sure that all types of office buildings, fabrication shops, and warehouses are neat, clean, free from clutter and safe.

• Report on time and fit for duty
• Participate in daily toolbox meetings
• Clean and disinfect common areas:
  • Printer rooms
  • Conference rooms
  • Washroom
  • Change/locker rooms
  • Kitchen/coffee areas
  • Vending machine
  • Staircases
  • Electronic items
• Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects
• disinfect high touch surfaces on a set schedule
• Under direct supervision, may be required to operate basic hand and power tools.
• Clean work areas and equipment.
• Perform other laboring and basic activities.
• Use cleaning supplies and equipment to keep the interior of the office building looking clean and professional
• Adhere to the company’s safety policies to create a safe work environment for everyone
• Perform routing cleaning tasks based on a schedule created by the facility management team
• Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces
• Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets
• Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers and restock disposables (e.g. soap)
• Wipe mirrors and windows
• Maintain outer premises by watering plants, mowing lawn, cleaning entrances
• Perform maintenance and minor repairs (fixing door handles, minor leaks etc.)
• Secure facilities after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows and setting up the alarm
• Undertake custodial and janitorial tasks (shoveling snow from the sidewalk, lifting heavy items, moving chairs etc.)
• Ensuring equipment and lights are switched off, and premises are locked after hours.
• Collaborating with contract cleaning services.

• Prior experience working with cleaning equipment and supplies is an asset
• Prior experience handling basic maintenance repairs is an asset
• As a condition of employment, employees are required upon hire to sign a Drug-Free Workplace Agreement, a Conflict of Interest Agreement, and Confidentiality and Invention Agreement.
