About Trans Canada Turbines
Trans Canada Turbines (TCT) is the sole authorized overhaul, repair, and maintenance service provider for both Siemens Energy and General Electric (GE) aeroderivative industrial gas turbines, serving an expanding international client base. Summary
We are currently looking for a temporary full‑time Labourer – Clean Line (6‑month contract) to join our team in the Airdrie depot. Reporting to the Cell Lead, Chemical Process, the General Labourer‑Clean Line will be responsible for cleaning components and assemblies for both General Electric and Siemens Energy industrial gas turbines. On‑the‑job training will be provided by a qualified technician.
Job Duties
Perform manual cleaning procedures to Gas Turbine Engine Components wearing appropriate PPE as required by TCT safety protocols, under the direction of the Team Lead.
Hand cleaning parts with chemicals, wire brushes and other tooling.
Dry and wet abrasive blasting using dedicated machines.
Burnishing using machines for polishing parts.
Pressure washing and ice‑blasting.
Manually load and unload chemical cleaning cages, secure components for protection, using overhaul manuals to identify correct cleaning processes.
Transfer and pump large volumes of Nitric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Permanganate and other dangerous chemicals over prolonged periods, wearing full chemical suit, boots and respirator as required by appropriate chemical SDS and TCT Hazard Assessment/Safe Work Practices.
Work directly with the Team Lead to establish timelines of work to meet challenging Operations Schedule.
Take ownership and demonstrate enthusiasm and support of TCT’s Quality and HSE culture, increase knowledge of the policies, make recommendations on policy and procedures to improve shop productivity and profit of the company in general, and to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Take steps to correct any condition that violates these fundamental principles.
Other duties as directed by the Team Lead.

Qualifications
A minimum of 1 year manual labor experience, preferably cleaning industrial components/parts or a combination of education and experience.
Basic knowledge of the PH scale.
WHMIS certification.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
Effective interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
High attention to detail.
Company Requirements
Successful completion of a criminal background check.
Successful completion of a post‑offer medical and drug & alcohol test.
