We are currently seeking a permanent Chemical Process Operator to join our Petrochemical plant team. As this position is located in Crossfield, Alberta which is located 27 km north of Calgary you will need your own transportation in order to commute daily to the plant.

Position Summary
In this role, you will be responsible for performing various tasks to maintain safe and efficient production of our batch polymerization facility.

Duties And Responsibilities

Routine duties include chemical handling, railcar unloading, wastewater treatment, bulk bag filling, loading trailers, driving fork truck, warehouse and inventory, housekeeping, and other miscellaneous tasks.

Additional functions include control system monitoring, trouble-shooting upsets as well as routine and/or preventive maintenance of equipment.

Maintaining and ensuring the accuracy/completeness of production records.

Strict adherence to all Safety policy and procedures is a requirement.

Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) where required.

Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment.

Follow company policies and procedures.

Other duties as assigned.

Schedule
12 hours rotating day/night shift schedule

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Skills:

Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal.

Organized, with attention to detail.

A positive attitude of continuous improvement toward process operations and product quality.

Must be hardworking, reliable, punctual and able to work with minimal supervision.

Abilities:

Good proficiency with computer programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ERP systems.

Good mechanical aptitude.

Education And Experience

Required:

GED

Prior Experience in a Chemical Plant Operations

Fork Truck

Preferred:

5th or 4th Class Power Engineer’s Certificate would be an asset.

Transpiration of Dangerous Goods (TDG)

MSDS

Familiar with ISO 90001

Working Conditions

Expected work environment:
Chemical Plant Operations, includes occasional outdoor work.

Reliable, consistent transportation is required due to the Plant’s location.

PPE Requirements as per company policy and standards, this includes but is not limited to:

Hearing Protection

Head Protection

Steel-toed footwear

Respiratory Protection

Mandatory Fit Testing (initial and recurrent)

Facial hair must not interfere with the seal
