Seasonal Labourer; Hamlet Crew

Position Summary: The Seasonal Labourer is responsible for grass mowing, weed trimming, garbage cleanup, landscaping, and other related duties to support the maintenance and upkeep of Wheatland County owned or maintained facilities including parks and cemeteries.

• Properly operate and maintain lawn care equipment including lawnmowers and weed trimmers in accordance with Wheatland County policies, and ensure work is performed in a safe and prompt manner.
• Safely operate and appropriately maintain County owned vehicles.
• Perform traffic flagging duties for Road Crews, as required.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable Wheatland County policies and bylaws.
• Ensure compliance with OH&S including attendance at safety meetings, being properly trained in OH&S related topics, and ensuring work is completed in a safe manner.
• Appropriately, and in a timely manner complete administrative tasks when required.
• Relate to and communicate with co-workers, management, customers and vendors sincerely, clearly, tactfully, promptly and courteously; respond to inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Perform tasks, consistent with the position, including special projects / assignments, as may be required on an ad hoc basis.

• Valid Class 5 Alberta drivers’ licence
• Ability to read a County map
• Mechanically inclined
• Valid First Aid Certificate would be an asset
• Effective organizational and time management skills
• Effective interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work alone and work cooperatively in a team environment
