Part Time - AIRDRIE Position Overview

Freight Team Associates are responsible for stocking merchandise, organizing the sales floor to create a pleasant and safe shopping environment, and providing customer service as required by customer demand. Most Freight Team Associates operate reach trucks, forklifts, and order picker machines to bring down merchandise to the sales floor. They pick orders when assigned and carefully pack them to ensure products are not damaged, accurately labeling and placing orders into specified holding areas.

• Stock merchandise onto shelves to maintain 100% in stock.
• Pack-out and pack-down merchandise as directed.
• Merchandise new items and promotions.
• Maintain aisle cleanliness and shoppability to ensure merchandise is accessible and presented in a visually appealing manner.
• Maintain and organize overheads (e.g., striping overheads).
• Communicate with other freight team members to ensure all product is stocked in the proper area.
• Follow Home Depot’s Get Model of Customer Service including Greeting, Engaging, and Thanking the Customer.
• When required, ask open-ended questions about the customer’s projects to determine their needs and level of expertise.
• Move freight safely from designated staging areas to overheads or bring merchandise down from overheads using the appropriate equipment.
• Ensure customers can move through aisles easily and safely.

Freight Team Supervisor

None

• Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items
• Climbing ladders up to 12–16 feet to obtain or stock merchandise

• Flexible schedule that includes overnight shift and may include evening and weekends
• Warehouse environment that can be dusty and noisy
• Passing forklift areas emit gas fumes
• Doors frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes

High school Diploma or Equivalent

1 to 2 years Retail or Distribution experience (an asset)
