The OpportunityRVS invites applications for two temporary, full-time (35 hrs/wk) Family School Liaison Worker(s) to join our dynamic team and work a 10-month school calendar schedule. This position willstart immediately until June 29, 2027.
As a member of the Learning Supports team, the Family School Liaison Worker works as part of a multidisciplinary team to enhance service delivery by helping families set goals, integrate interventions, plan strategies and arrange resources to help children be successful in school, home and their community.
The successful candidates will have access to reliable transportation as services are provided mainly in the family home or in a community setting.
Responsibilities Include- Conducts and documents needs assessment to identify the social, emotional, behavioural, and academic requirements of the child and family
- Develops solution focused goals and case management strategies which reflect the family and school as systems of care
- Connects students and families to community resources for longer-term intervention and support programs as needed
- Provides short-term in-home intervention utilizing a family systems approach, and utilizes mediation support to enhance relationships amongst students, teachers, school administrators, and parents
- Provides wrap around service focusing on connecting students, families, and schools to community resources to provide support programs as needed
- Advocates for the family, and supports the development of a network of resources toprovide ongoing assistance as needed
- Collaboratively utilizes triage and consultation for referral processes, which include identifying barriers, assessing needs, determining appropriate goals, and coaching thoseinvolved throughout the process
- In partnership with Community Outreach in Pediatric/Psychiatric service in Education(COPE), serves as the point of contact within RVS and assists families and schools who areaccessing and utilizing the COPE Program
- Facilitates provision of services such as food, clothing, shelter, medical, and additionalsupports when needed, and maintains appropriate records of services provided to families and students
- Provides professional learning opportunities throughout RVS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Social Sciences or related field
- Two+ years’ experience in community development or social services
- Previous experience within an inter-agency field
- 6% vacation pay
- As this is a temporary position, there is no employer paid sick time, pension, or benefits

- The successful candidate must submita current Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check within 30 days of the start of your employment
- Proof of qualifications/education as required by the position including WES/IQAS evaluation documents for completed education outside of Canada
