Our client is a well-established and highly respected structural steel fabrication and construction business, supplying and erecting fabricated steelwork across the UK and Ireland. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Purchasing / Administration Assistant to support their busy Purchasing Department.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to begin or develop your career within a growing and ambitious business, with full training provided. Working closely with the Purchasing team, you will assist with purchase orders, supplier liaison and general administration, playing an important role in supporting the successful delivery of projects across the UK and Ireland.
Purchasing / Administration Assistant- Position Remuneration
£27,000 - £32,000 depending on experience
Monday to Friday, full-time, office-based

- Position Overview
- Raise and process purchase orders accurately and efficiently
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchasing information within company systems
- Liaise with suppliers regarding orders and general enquiries
- Support buyers with researching new products and suppliers
- Maintain accurate supplier and contract records
- Provide administrative support across the Purchasing and Material Control departments
- Assist with general purchasing administration and data entry
- Work closely with the wider team to support the smooth and efficient running of the department
- Position Requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good IT skills, including accurate data entry
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Willingness to learn new systems and processes
- Proactive, reliable and keen to develop within a purchasing environment
- Previous experience within a structural steel or construction environment would be advantageous but is not essential
- No previous purchasing experience required as full training will be provided
