north lanarkshire council’s early learning & childcare service is dedicated to ensuring the care, wellbeing and positive development of young children.
we are currently recruiting for 2 permanent key worker positions, 30 hours per week working term time only, at the following location;
petersburn family learning centre, petersburn road, petersburn, airdrie, ml6 8rg
you will be a proactive and valued member of the early year’s team, supporting & nurturing children through the creation of engaging, stimulating learning experiences. You will contribute to delivering a high quality, child centred service that meets the individual needs of young children and their families.
the role involves actively participating in the planning, development and co-ordination of learning programmes early years setting, ensuring positive outcomes for all children.
you must be an excellent communicator with the ability to build effective relationships and communicate confidently with children, parents, carers, colleagues and partner professionals.
applicants should have experience of working in an early years environment and demonstrate a commitment to continuous ongoing professional learning & development.
the successful candidate must hold one of the following qualifications (or equivalent qualification)
- hnc in early education & childcare/childhood practice
- svq 3 early years care & education
you must also meet the registration requirements for a practitioner with the scottish social services council (sssc).
membership of the protecting vulnerable groups (pvg) scheme is required. Applicants who are not currently members must be willing to join the scheme and obtain a satisfactory scheme record or scheme record update.
working pattern : monday- friday term time hours between: 8am
-6pm

* for all casual/sessional roles, you will receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for every hour worked in total recompense for annual leave, including public holidays. These rates will be indicated separately on your payslip. You will only be paid for the hours that you work.
