This role sits within our AFG division, based at our Airdrie Depot.
Responsibilities- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and financial reporting in line with group deadlines, including balance sheet reconciliations and associated accounting entries.
- Manage all statutory and regulatory financial requirements, including VAT returns, P11
Ds, payroll oversight, pension submissions, and liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, and HMRC. - Maintain robust financial controls, ensuring company assets are safeguarded and financial processes are compliant, efficient, and effective.
- Manage cash flow, banking activities, supplier payments, foreign currency transactions, and credit insurance arrangements.
- Monitor debtor performance, stock valuation, gross margins, overhead expenditure, and key financial metrics, supporting the business to improve profitability and performance.
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning processes, providing financial analysis and insights to support decision-making.
- Oversee stock control processes, including stock takes, slow-moving stock analysis, and inventory reporting.
- Produce management and board reporting, including KPI monitoring and daily, monthly, and ad hoc financial information.
- Act as a business partner to operational, sales, and production teams, improving financial understanding and supporting commercial decision-making.
- Lead and develop the Accounts Assistant, providing guidance, support, and cover when required.
- Champion financial systems and reporting tools, promoting best practice, user understanding, process improvements, and reporting automation.
- Support group-wide projects and initiatives aimed at improving financial processes, controls, and reporting consistency across the business.
Ideally we are looking for a qualified accountant, although part-qualified candidates or those qualified through significant relevant experience will also be considered.
