The Role
Based within the Acute Frailty Unit , As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will carry out routine personal care/assist with routine examination duties for patients, in support of (and supervised by), a registered nurse/clinician. The post holder will ensure a person centred approach to care delivery which is safe and effective to ensure and maintain quality strategy. The post holder will carry out assigned duties to maintain hygiene, order and safety within the ward/department environment.
In this key role, you will:
- Carry out assigned tasks in delivering and supporting direct patient care under the direction of a registered nurse to ensure delivery of high quality patient care,
- Co-operate with and maintain good relationships with other disciplines that are attending and treating patients to maximise patient care.
- Maintain good relationships and an empathic approach to clients’ carers and relatives and refer them to a registered nurse for any questions they may have on the patients’ condition or for any suggestions or complaints that they wish to raise.
- Report observed changes in the patients’ physical/psychological needs and participate in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records to ensure effective communication.
What You'll Bring:
- Knowledge of personal care and related procedures or previous volunteer or work experience in a health, education or social environment.
- Required to undertake on the job training and induction
- Undertake mandatory HCSW standards
- Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
