St Andrew’s Hospice is a registered charity providing specialist palliative care for patients with life-limiting conditions which require complex symptom management, and/or end-of-life care. It is Lanarkshire’s specialist hospice and provides multidisciplinary support for patients, their families and carers. The service is provided completely free of charge for the adult population of North and South Lanarkshire and is open to all without distinction of race, gender or creed.

What is the role?

The post holder will be responsible for leading the end to end administration and development of our weekly lottery, including compliance and raffle products. The post holder will grow and maximise income from our weekly Lottery. The post holder will be accountable for ensuring St Andrew’s Hospice conducts the Lottery in compliance with the rules and regulations of the Gambling Commission, the Gambling Act 2025 and Fundraising Codes of Practice.

The post holder will also assist with the Individual Giving Appeals, Regular Giving Processing, and take ownership of our two raffles from start to finish, grow and maximise income for the raffles, secure sponsorship, promote raffle sales within the community and submit submissions to the Gambling Commission timeously.

What we expect of you?
  • To maximise the income generated from the Hospice weekly lottery to contribute to meeting the running costs for St Andrew’s Hospice.
  • To ensure the Lottery is run in accordance with rules and regulations of appropriate regulators particularly the Gambling Commission and the Fundraising Code of Practice
  • To administer the lottery including recording of new players and player payments onto the database, overseeing the weekly draw and paying the winners
  • To liaise with the external Lottery recruitment company and ensure they are recruiting appropriate levels of new players whilst maintain high standards of recruitment practices that do not damage the reputation of the Hospice
  • To engage with all current lottery players and new players to benefit fundraising at St Andrew’s Hospice.
  • To administer all the regular giving donations
  • To support the work of the Individual Giving Team and wider Fundraising department with other fundraising duties or initiatives as deemed appropriate.
