An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Charge Nurse to lead our Day Surgery and Endoscopy services on a 6-month secondment covering maternity leave.

This role offers an excellent development opportunity for an aspiring leader or an established Senior Charge Nurse looking to broaden their experience across a dynamic and fast‑paced clinical environment. The successful candidate will provide visible leadership to the Day Surgery and Endoscopy teams, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and person‑centred care while supporting service development and operational performance.

Please note this is a Secondment post for 6 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.

• Lead in planning, priority setting and decision making to ensure that patients needs and organisational goals are met and contribute to the development and implementation of guidelines, policies and procedures
• Undertake expert clinical nursing practice
• Assess, appraise and critically apply the evidence‑base for Clinical Practice
• Identify and promote the need for health improvement and prevention of ill health

• Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration
• Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level
• Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
• Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.
• A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
