Tesco Shift Leader – Days – Auld Cross Express.
Tesco is hiring for the Shift Leader role.

Our Shift Leader rate of pay starts from £14.76 an hour; this increases to £15.97 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

It’s our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week; if you’d like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too and would still love to hear from you.

Availability windows are listed below. We will schedule contracted hours within these times and provide 3 weeks’ notice of shifts. We are happy to support flexibility if your available times closely match but do not exactly align with what is advertised.

As a Shift Leader you’ll oversee store operations on the shop floor, support the team, and help deliver great customer service and a smooth store experience every day.

• Work in a fast-paced retail environment with variety.
• Take ownership of running duty shifts, coordinating the team to maintain a clean, well-stocked store that exceeds customer expectations.
• Be available to customers, listen to their needs, and help ensure they leave with what they came for.
• Look for ways to improve service, including coaching colleagues and providing feedback to the team.
• Guide and support colleagues in-store to maintain a safe place to work and shop.
• Understand store performance and assist managers in delivering actions to improve operations.
• Lead from the front and set a strong example for the team.

• Must be 18 or over to apply.
• Be a great role model with thoughtful customer service and a positive, inclusive attitude.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to keep the team well-informed.
• Ability to oversee store operations in the absence of a Manager and make clear, customer-focused decisions.
• Motivating leadership to inspire the team to exceed expectations.
• Curiosity to find ideas and opportunities to serve customers, communities, and the planet better.
