Position: CLD Project Officer (Youth Work) (Temporary) (Part Time) - REQ06387 - 480875

working as part of the wider cld team, you will support the core functions of youth work and lead the delivery of a new community-based project focused on engaging young people and families in preventative sessions and workshops exploring the harms of gambling. As project officer, you will develop and deliver creative and inclusive youth work programmes, including awards and accreditation, approved learning courses, outdoor learning and detached youth work.

You will coordinate activities, training and targeted outreach, using a range of engagement methods including digital platforms, to build confidence, reduce risks of harm and promote positive outcomes in learning, life and work. An enthusiastic and motivated individual, you will have an awareness of key developments within cld and will participate in relevant training in addition to the council's mandatory training requirements.

You will have strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to support youth engagement, whilst working collaboratively with partners.

as part of the youth work team, you will be required to link with schools and community organisations to develop the role.

successful candidates will have good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team. You must have relevant qualifications at scqf level 7 in community learning and development or an equivalent discipline, and/or accredited training appropriate to the learning programme being delivered. Previous experience of leading community-based work with young people and families is essential.

the project officer will be line managed through the cld youth work team.

you will require to become a protecting vulnerable groups (pvg) scheme member through disclosure scotland and obtain a satisfactory membership check prior to commencing in this role.

work patterns will be discussed further at interview stage, and successful candidates are expected to work during the day, in the evenings and weekends. Location for posts will be across north lanarkshire.

this position is temporary until march 2028.

* for all casual/sessional roles, you will receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for every hour worked in total recompense for annual leave, including public holidays. These rates will be indicated separately on your payslip. You will only be paid for the hours that you work.
