Responsibilities- Work alongside licenced technicians to inspect, service and repair vehicles
- Learn and execute diagnostic procedures, mechanical and electrical systems, and advanced safety technology
- Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements
- Ensure the service shop is maintained in a clean, organized, hazard-free manner
- Properly complete the service and/or repairs for which the technician is trained
- Maintain an inventory of all assigned tools
- Properly utilize tools and equipment provided by the service department
- Produce quality work that demonstrates pride of workmanship
- Ensure that customers vehicles are returned as clean as they were prior to being serviced
- Make every effort to achieve the production and personal objectives set by management
- Constructively communicate with other dealership personnel as required to satisfy customer needs
- Participate in and utilize technical training as assigned by management and earn professional hours toward licence
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and regulations
- Comply with all Volvo's Health & Safety rules and procedures and its supporting programs for performing work in a safe and healthy manner
- Promptly report any workplace hazard, of which you are aware, to the supervisor(s) or Management
- Refrain from any activity which may jeopardize the health and safety of yourself or others
- Recent completion of an apprenticeship program
- Strong mechanical aptitude and eagerness to develop new skills
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work safely in a fast-paced shop environment
- Good problem solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Valid Class G (or equivalent) driver's licence with a clean driving record
- Commitment to completing the hours required for professional development
