VR Mechanical is growing and currently looking for a Construction Manager to join our team. We provide a unique experience in the marketplace by maintaining a hands on, supportive environment, while delivering some of the most complex and high-profile projects in the province. This role is full-time and in office (Ajax, ON).

VR Mechanical is an industry leading, turn-key mechanical systems provider serving the ICI construction sector in Southern Ontario. We are a collaborative and solutions driven partner looking for like-minded people to join our dynamic and growing team. Our core strengths in virtual construction, value engineering, preconstruction design, and fabrication help us establish the highest standards of project delivery in the market.

Construction Manager

Qualifications:

  • Lead and mentor a team of project managers and project coordinators, promoting a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Strategically guide the operations in our major projects division management team, emphasizing growth targets and driving operational excellence.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to pinpoint market opportunities, formulate business strategies, and stimulate revenue growth.
  • Ensure adherence to industry regulations and standards.
  • Oversee complex project portfolios, managing project execution, risk oversight, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Maintain financial control of projects including forecasting and cash flow analysis
  • Foster strategic partnerships and alliances to support company growth objectives and enhance our competitive edge in the market.

Required Skills:

  • Over 10 years of industry experience with a proven track record in large, complex mechanical construction projects.
  • Ability to develop corporate strategies and long-term plans.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry regulations and standards, especially in highly regulated environments.
  • Strong business acumen and financial management skills, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with team members, trade partners, consultants, and clients to achieve project goals and vision.
  • Support your construction and project management teams in developing and driving the construction schedule, ensuring that completion dates and milestones are met.
  • Proficient in risk management and monitoring potential issues, implementing early mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, focusing on innovative approaches that enhance effectiveness and efficiency to ensure project excellence and productivity.
