Senior Building Inspector

Drive compliance and safety as a Senior Building Inspector with the Town of Ajax. Engage with construction professionals to ensure adherence to building codes and safety regulations.

This temporary full-time role spans approximately 12 months and requires an experienced inspector. You will be responsible for inspecting constructions against the Ontario Building Code and other applicable regulations. A strong foundational knowledge in building science and code interpretation is essential for success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect buildings for compliance with codes and permit documentation

• Document inspections and maintain precise reports

• Issue orders under the Building Code Act as necessary

Requirements:

• College diploma or university degree in a relevant field

• Minimum five years of municipal building inspection experience

• Strong understanding of building codes and legal processes

• Excellent reading and interpreting of building plans

• Valid G driver's license with a clear record
