English Teacher; Grades 7-12

Overview

Part-Time English Teacher (Grades 7-12). This in-person position is based in Ajax, Ontario. The role involves teaching English to students in Grades 7 to 12 and supporting their language development.

• Teach up to 3 students at a time in-person, across different levels
• Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
• Fill in post-lesson notes
• Complete daily student communication updates
• Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification is an asset
• Good knowledge of the current Grade 7 to Grade 12 curriculum

• Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Grade 7 to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level
• Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
• Experience with teaching or tutoring math is an asset

• Position requires Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00/5:00pm to 8:00pm
• Potential Saturday mornings from 9:00am - 1:00pm during the school year
• This role is in-person; ability to commute to the location is required
• Relocation packages are not available
• Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory

• Salary: $19 - $20 per hour
• Schedule:
  
  Evenings, Tuesdays and Thursdays;
  Saturday availability
