As a Permanent Teacher for DDSB, you’ll create a vibrant and supportive learning environment where students thrive. You’ll bring your passion for teaching to the classroom, guiding students through their educational journey and fostering a love for learning.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver engaging lessons that align with the curriculum and support student learning.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to help students grow.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to enhance student learning.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Required subject qualifications:
English - FTE: 0.5 Full year; morning’s only

Grades 9 +10 - Tentative course codes (if known):
- Ontario teaching certificate (OCT) in good standing
- Secondary Permanent Salary Range: $57,986 to $119,967/year (Placement on salary grid is based on QECO rating and teaching experience. Salary will be pro-rated based on the position FTE).
- First Consideration:
Teachers covered by the OSSTF Permanent Teachers’ Collective Agreement (1.0., 0.5, Article 10 teachers) who possess the required qualifications. (For clarity, an Article 10 teacher is a day school teacher at Durham Continuing Education who has signed a contract with the Board. They are considered Article 10 for the school year.) - Second Consideration:
Candidates from outside of the OSSTF permanent bargaining unit.
- External hires can take up to 10 working days to be processed which could affect the start date for this position.
- Provide a current Criminal Background Check with vulnerable sector screening upon hire.
