Fire Safety Educator Fire Services

Join the Town of Ajax as a Fire Safety Educator, focused on enhancing public awareness about fire prevention. Deliver vital fire safety education and conduct inspections to ensure compliance with regulations.

This full-time position reports to the Fire Prevention Officer, dedicating 85% of your efforts to public education. You will design and implement educational programs, assess their impact, and manage community outreach efforts. The remaining 15% of your role includes conducting fire inspections across Ajax.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create fire safety education initiatives for diverse age groups

• Evaluate and improve ongoing community education programs

• Collect data on public education outreach effectiveness

• Perform fire inspections to uphold fire codes

• Engage with local media for fire safety promotion

Requirements:

• Degree in education, marketing, or fire safety field

• 2-4 years experience in education or safety training

• Familiarity with relevant legislation and Microsoft Office

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Class “G” driver’s license in good standing
