Position: Part Time Surgical Nurse at Lakeridge Health

As a Registered Practical Nurse, you will report to the Manager of OR, ensuring that operating rooms are prepared with sterile instruments and supplies. Key responsibilities encompass pre-operative, intraoperative, and post-operative tasks, assisting physicians with instruments, and handling patient transfers to Recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms and ensure availability of required instruments

• Assist surgeons with surgical instruments and during procedures

• Count sponges and needles pre- and post-operation

• Provide patient transfer to Recovery after surgery

• Maintain documentation and perform limited circulating duties

Requirements:

• Current Registered Practical Nurse certification from Ontario

• R.P.N. Diploma from an accredited college

• BCLS certification

• Experience in the perioperative environment

• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
