This position is open to all qualified CUPE staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 20 October 2026 and closing at 11:59 pm on 27 October 2026.

• Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating to provide high quality nursing care to residents;
• Assisting in the development and maintenance of an appropriate plan of care for each resident Ensuring resident care plans are initiated in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary team
• Communicating with relatives regarding the care and condition of respective residents as required
• Participating in discharge planning, consultation, and/or transfer of residents
• Providing provide direct resident care and participate in resident teaching as required
• Encouraging active participation by residents in all therapy programs and recreational activities
• Providing first aid to staff when necessary and completing Employee Injury Reports
• Procuring and administer medications including injections and narcotics
• Participating in the orientation, on-the-job training and in-servicing of nursing staff as required

• Current Certificate of Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse
• Related experience in a geriatric or Long Term Care environment is preferred;
• Demonstrated commitment to maintain Reflective Practice Standards as outlined by the CNO;
• Demonstrated knowledge of and compliance with safe work practices
• Must possess strong written and oral communication, critical thinking, care coordination, time management and customer focus skills;
• Demonstrated empathy, concern and interest in providing quality care and service for residents
• Physical ability to perform the essential duties of the job
• Must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months;
