Dual Surveillance Supervisor
Job Description
Casino Ajax is seeking a Full‑time Dual Surveillance Supervisor. Under the general direction of the Surveillance Manager or designate, this position is responsible for daily on‑going monitoring and observation of casino operations, while ensuring the security and integrity of casino assets, staff, and guests. The ideal candidate is an energetic professional with proven knowledge, skills and abilities to govern over a high‑paced, pressured environment.
You will be accountable for the staff, assigning duties, briefing/monitoring employees, and overseeing occurrences as they develop, enforcing policies and procedures while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees.
- Supervise, manage and delegate surveillance operators’ daily tasks and duties, maintaining awareness of all gaming operations at all times.
- Communicate effectively and interact with internal and external customers while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Maintain reliability, diligence, and a high level of integrity.
- Safeguard confidential information and prevent its improper disclosure or use.
- Investigate, report, and document all irregular, unusual, suspicious, or illegal activities.
- Maintain and verify logs, enter information into trackers and timesheets, and prepare and verify departmental reports.
- Monitor, document and report violations, unauthorized access, large cash/cash‑equivalent transactions, trespassed, and self‑excluded guests.
- Store records securely for evidence purposes.
- Monitor and report on the conditions of surveillance facilities and equipment; perform preventative maintenance as required.
- Provide training and coaching to all new team members.
- Assist the management team with projects as needed.
- Ensure health and safety directives are followed and other statutory regulations are met.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Surveillance Manager or designate.
- Ensure compliance with Alcohol and Gaming Commission regulations and applicable laws and policies.
- Possess knowledge of table games and the gaming industry (considered an asset).
- Work all shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Supervise and manage the performance of surveillance operators.
- Secondary school diploma, with preference for graduates with post‑secondary education in law, security, or criminology.
- Minimum of one year of surveillance/security‑related experience, with preference for one year of supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership, analytical, observational, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive, solution‑oriented, with strong problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Proficiency with computer applications – MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
- Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective, and service‑oriented communication.
- Ability to obtain registration as a Category 1 Gaming Assistant (license) from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
Candidates must be ready and willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnights. The hours of work will be based on operational needs. Ready to embark on your next adventure?
