Respond to fires, medical calls, and motor vehicle emergencies in Ajax with NFPA 1001 qualifications and a Class DZ licence.
This full-time Probationary Firefighter position serves public safety through emergency response and station readiness. Ajax Fire & Emergency Services requires candidates who communicate clearly under demanding conditions. Work includes 24-hour shifts, weekends, holidays, training, maintenance, and public education.
Key Responsibilities:- Respond to fire emergencies and perform rescues
- Protect property and the environment during incidents
- Provide emergency patient care and assistance
- Handle specialized emergencies and public assistance calls
- Participate in training and maintain stations
- Ability to work 24-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Fluent English reading, writing, and speaking ability
- Ability to manage intense physical, mental, and emotional stress
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Current criminal and vulnerable sector checks required
