* General Description:

** Waste Connections of Canada is currently seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven Senior Tax Analyst to join our team in Ajax, Ontario. This position offers the opportunity to be part of a world-class tax department with team members located in both The Woodlands, Texas and Ajax, Ontario. Our cross-border tax teams collaborate closely to support the comprehensive tax provision, compliance, audit, and strategic planning requirements of a large and sophisticated international organization.

As a Senior Tax Analyst with us the minimum responsibilities are:
* Assist with the preparation of the quarterly tax provision under US GAAP
* Preparation of federal and provincial income tax returns
* Calculating monthly tax installments
* Preparation of foreign reporting information returns for foreign affiliates
* Assist with the preparation of the Globe Income Return
* Preparation and filing of commodity tax returns
* Assist with CRA and Provincial Revenue Agency notices
* Prepare working papers to address various CRA / Provincial tax audit inquiries
* Keep informed of tax laws, regulations, and rulings pertaining to international, federal, provincial and local taxes
* Analyze and prepare internal memos and reports on the tax effects of business transactions
** What We Need From You:
*** Must be able to pass all pre-employment requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
* CPA designation or Masters in Taxation is preferred
* 2 - 4 years experience working in a tax department of a public accounting firm or large corporation
* Experience with large corporate or complex tax provision preferred
* Completion or enrollment in the CPA In-Depth Tax Course is an asset
* Team player with strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong computer skills in MS Office and Tax Prep tax software experience
