Librarian - Library Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized library assistant to join our team at the Ajman Public Library. This position is open to Indian nationals with or without experience, as long as you have a passion for books and knowledge. As a library assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the librarian in managing the library's collection, cataloging materials, and helping patrons find resources.

• Assist in managing and organizing the library's collection of books, magazines, and other materials
• Catalog new materials and maintain accurate records using our library software system
• Help patrons locate materials and provide recommendations based on their interests
• Assist in processing new library memberships and maintaining current member information
• Monitor book check-outs and returns, collect fines if necessary
• Maintain a clean and orderly environment in the library
• Assist in planning and implementing library programs and events for all ages
• Collaborate with other staff members to promote the library's services and resources

• Indian nationality preferred
• Fluent in English (Arabic proficiency is a plus)
• Basic knowledge of library procedures or willingness to learn
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Friendly, approachable demeanor with excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings or weekends if needed

Salary: 1800$ per month (negotiable based on experience)
