Job Description:
An Aluminum & Glass Draftsman prepares detailed technical drawings for aluminum and glass works used in buildings, shops, offices, façades, and interiors.
Job DescriptionResponsible for preparing accurate shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation details for aluminum and glassworks based on architectural drawings, site measurements, and project specifications.
MainDuties & Responsibilities
- Prepare 2D CAD drawings for aluminum and glass works.
- Prepare shop drawings for windows, doors, curtain walls, shopfronts, skylights, partitions, and glass façades
. - Develop detailed sections, elevations, plans, and installation details.
- Prepare fabrication and cutting details for aluminum profiles, glass panels, and accessories.
- Review architectural and structural drawings and identify discrepancies.
- Take and verify site measurements when required.
- Coordinate drawings with architects, engineers, consultants, and site teams.
- Select appropriate aluminum profiles, glass types, hardware, and accessories according to project specifications.
- Prepare material take-offs and cutting lists when required.
- Revise drawings according to consultant/client comments.
- Ensure drawings comply with approved specifications, dimensions, and project standards.
- Coordinate with production/fabrication teams to ensure drawings are practical for manufacturing.
- Prepare as-built drawings after project completion.
- Maintain proper drawing records, revisions, and document control.
- Provide technical support to the site and fabrication teams when clarification is required.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
; knowledge of Revit/3D software is an advantage. - Good knowledge of aluminum and glass fabrication and installation.
- Ability to read architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Understanding of aluminum profiles, glass specifications, hardware, and fixing methods.
- Strong knowledge of dimensions, tolerances, sections, and detailing.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under project deadlines
