Librarian

Responsibilities

• Organize and catalog library materials according to established standards
• Create accurate bibliographic records for print and electronic resources
• Maintain the library's cataloging system and ensure its accuracy
• Assist with collection development by identifying materials for acquisition
• Respond to reference inquiries from library patrons
• Provide support for interlibrary loan requests
• Train and supervise library assistants in cataloging procedures

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
• Minimum of 1 year experience working in a library setting, preferably in cataloging or technical services
• Strong knowledge of library cataloging and classification systems including Dewey Decimal Classification and MARC standards
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other team members
• Proficiency in using library management software such as Koha or Sirsi Dynix

$1,500 per month

Ajman, UAE (candidate must commute to the city for work)

Part-time position with flexible working hours; schedule will be discussed during the interview process.
