About the RoleAs a Visiting Faculty member within the Department of Computing at LSBU UAE, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, and Artificial Intelligence. You will deliver engaging lectures, seminars, tutorials, and practical sessions that combine academic knowledge with industry relevance. Working closely with Course Leaders and module teams, you will support student learning, contribute to assessment activities, and help maintain the high academic standards expected of a British university.
This role is ideal for experienced academics and senior industry professionals who are passionate about sharing their expertise and inspiring the next generation of computing professionals.
- Deliver lectures, seminars, tutorials, workshops, and practical sessions in line with approved module specifications.
- Facilitate engaging and interactive learning experiences that promote student participation and achievement.
- Support students in developing subject knowledge, technical skills, and professional competencies.
- Apply innovative teaching approaches and digital learning technologies where appropriate.
- Ensure teaching delivery aligns with LSBU academic standards and learning outcomes.
- Prepare, review, and update teaching materials, presentations, and learning resources.
- Support assessment design, marking, moderation, and feedback processes.
- Provide academic guidance and support to students during and outside scheduled teaching sessions.
- Monitor student engagement and identify opportunities to enhance learning outcomes.
- Contribute to maintaining academic integrity and quality assurance standards.
- Work collaboratively with Course Leaders, Module Leaders, and academic teams to ensure effective curriculum delivery.
- Participate in programme reviews, module evaluations, and quality enhancement activities as required.
- Contribute subject expertise and industry insights to support curriculum development.
- Attend relevant departmental meetings and academic activities where appropriate.
- Maintain an active profile within your academic or professional discipline.
- Contribute to scholarly activities, research, industry engagement, or professional practice.
- Support the department's commitment to research-informed teaching and innovation.
- Engage with emerging developments and trends within your area of expertise.
- A PhD in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related computing discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years' relevant teaching experience, industry experience, or a combination of both.
- The ability to deliver engaging and effective teaching at higher education level.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience supporting student learning and academic development.
- A commitment to academic excellence and student success.
- Knowledge of current developments within your specialist discipline.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a multicultural academic environment.
- Publications in Scopus, Web of Science (WoS), ABS-ranked journals, or evidence of equivalent scholarly activity will be highly desirable.
- Previous experience within UK higher education or international higher education environments would be advantageous.
- Contributing to the development of future computing professionals and technology leaders.
- Delivering teaching within high-demand disciplines including Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Digital Forensics.
