As a Course Leader within the Department of Computing at LSBU UAE, you will take academic and operational responsibility for one or more of our computing programmes, including Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, and Artificial Intelligence.

You will provide academic leadership to a team of lecturers and contribute to the delivery of an exceptional student experience. The role involves overseeing curriculum delivery, assessment quality, student engagement, academic standards, and programme performance, whilst ensuring compliance with LSBU’s UK academic frameworks and UAE regulatory requirements.

This position requires a passionate academic leader who can combine subject expertise, research excellence, and effective programme management to drive student success and academic quality.

• Lead and manage the academic delivery of computing programmes.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to academic staff within the department.
• Ensure modules and programmes are delivered in accordance with approved specifications and quality standards.
• Monitor programme performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to strategic planning and departmental development activities.

• Oversee curriculum design, review, and enhancement activities.
• Ensure excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
• Monitor assessment quality, moderation processes, and academic integrity standards.
• Support innovation in teaching methodologies and learning technologies.
• Contribute to teaching and supervision within your area of expertise.

• Monitor student engagement, progression, retention, and achievement.
• Support initiatives that enhance the student learning experience.
• Work closely with student support teams to identify and address academic challenges.
• Promote an inclusive, supportive, and student‑centred learning environment.
• Provide academic leadership in student success and employability initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with LSBU academic regulations and quality frameworks.
• Maintain programme standards in line with UAE Ministry of Education (MoE) and CAA requirements.
• Prepare programme reports, annual monitoring reports, and quality documentation.
• Support accreditation, validation, and audit processes as required.
• Monitor key performance indicators relating to academic quality and student outcomes.

• Maintain an active research profile within your discipline.
• Contribute to peer‑reviewed publications, conferences, and scholarly activities.
• Support research development within the department.
• Engage with industry, professional bodies, and external stakeholders where appropriate.
• Promote a culture of scholarship, innovation, and academic excellence.

• A PhD in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related discipline.
• A minimum of 7 years’ experience in higher education teaching and academic practice.
• At least 2 years’ experience in an academic leadership, programme management, or course leadership role.
• A strong understanding of curriculum development, assessment, and quality assurance processes.
• An active research profile with evidence of peer‑reviewed publications, conference presentations, funded research, or scholarly outputs.
• Experience leading and developing academic teams.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• A student‑centred approach with a commitment to academic excellence and continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with UK higher education frameworks and quality standards.
• Experience working within international higher education environments is desirable.
• Knowledge of UAE higher education regulations and accreditation requirements would be advantageous.
