City University Ajman is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Facilities Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, scheduling, and supervising campus facilities maintenance operations. This role involves managing maintenance staff and contractors, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, overseeing maintenance budgets, and addressing inquiries from the public regarding campus facilities. The Facilities Engineer will play a key role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and well-functioning campus environment.
Responsibilities- Plan, organize, schedule, and supervise campus facilities maintenance operations, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Establish job priorities and set time frames for maintenance staff.
- Monitor and inspect job assignments to ensure completion in compliance with standards and revise instructions and timelines when necessary.
- Train employees on equipment use, task procedures, work standards, and proper safety protocols.
- Serve as the safety representative by coordinating safety training needs, assisting with safety audits, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining related safety records.
- Schedule and supervise maintenance activities across the campus, including work performed by contractors or subcontractors.
- Respond professionally to public inquiries, concerns, and complaints regarding campus facilities.
- Create and develop documents related to maintenance projects.
- Develop specifications and make recommendations on capital equipment purchases.
- Supervise minor maintenance and servicing of campus facilities.
- Assess the need for outside contractors for construction projects.
- Prepare operational and maintenance reports for campus facilities.
- Manage the maintenance budget, including monitoring inventory and expenses.
- Perform other related tasks and duties as assigned.
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in facilities management, engineering, or maintenance supervision.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, equipment, and maintenance procedures.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Ability to supervise teams and contractors effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to respond professionally to stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and facilities management software.
- Knowledge of safety standards, compliance, and best practices in facility operations.
